National Drawing Day

  • west Cork arts center Skibbereen Cork Ireland (map)

National Drawing Day is an annual event initiated by the National Gallery of Ireland taking place in over 150 venues across Ireland. This year the event falls during our Members’ Exhibition on Saturday 20 May, so to celebrate West Cork Arts Centre is inviting our exhibiting artist Members and Friends to join us for a day of drawing.

Drawing from other artist’s work has been a discipline practised by students and artists for hundreds of years. To revive this valuable practice, artists will be drawing in the gallery on National Drawing Day. Drawing alongside each other, and drawing from each other’s work will give the artists the chance to get to know each other better, and learn from one another.

All are welcome to join in with some drawing on the day, at any time between 10.30am and 4.30pm. Easels and some materials will be provided, and tea and coffee will be served at 11.00am and 3.00pm.
