One of the earliest settlements in West Cork. Drombeg Stone Circle was a place of worship dating back to 1000 BC. Glandore today is a popular holiday and sailing destination.

The entrance to the harbour is protected by two rocky islands, Adam and Eve, with sailors being advice to ‘Avoid Adam and Hug Eve’ to enter the harbour safely. The harbour actually stretches inland for about 3 miles, offering plenty of mooring points and shelter from the weather. It is home to an array of sea birds and seals, and the greater bay area is known for dolphins and whales.

Glandore is an ideal base from which to explore West Cork, surrounded by unspoiled countryside, boasting two castles nearby and the ancient Drombeg Stone Circle. The town is connected to Union Hall by the picturesque Poulgorm bridge.
