Kickstarting the festival is a grand launch event on Friday at the Bantry Community Tourist Office, where history comes to life with a captivating Historical Walk of Bantry Town. Immerse yourself in the stories of the past and gain a deeper understanding of the town's rich heritage.
Get ready for a weekend packed with thrilling walks that cater to all levels of experience. Just like last year, the festival will feature an A walk on Saturday, a B walk on Sunday, and Whiddy Island C walks on both days. Lace up your boots and join us at the Bantry Community Tourist Office on Wolfe Tone Square, conveniently located with plenty of parking available in the Town Centre.
The highlight of the festival is undoubtedly the A walk on Saturday, where we'll venture to the majestic Gougane Barra. Brace yourself for a five-hour hike that will lead us to breathtaking heights, reaching an elevation of 566 meters. The awe-inspiring views and the sense of accomplishment will make it all worthwhile.
On Sunday, our B walk will take us to Cahergal on The Sheep's Head Peninsula, offering a captivating journey through this stunning coastal region. Let the beauty of the landscape unfold before your eyes as you explore the rugged terrain and embrace the tranquility of nature.
