Also known as the Teardrop of Ireland, the Rock marks an evocative turning point in the 610 mile Fastnet Race and is one of toughest sea races in the world. Held biennially, the race begins at Cowes in England goes around the Fastnet Rock, the most southerly point of Ireland.
